Samsung is launching its 1TB versions of the Pro Plus and Evo Plus microSD cards in Singapore. These microSD cards are designed to be battery-efficient and robust enough to handle high volumes of writing and erasing. Thanks to the built-in error correction and parity check code engines, these features ensure the cards last longer and work efficiently, even under heavy usage.

Samsung designed these new microSD cards for various devices, including Android smartphones, tablets, action cameras, recording drones, and handheld gaming consoles. The latter is particularly relevant for devices with sizeable digital game files, such as the and Nintendo Switch.

Speed and performance

The Evo Plus microSD cards, starting at 128GB, offer transfer speeds of up to 160MB/s. They also support UHS Speed Class 3 (U3), Video Speed Class 30 (V30), and A2 App Performance profiles. This makes them ideal for quick file transfers, 4K video recording, and launching game directly from the microSD card.

The Pro Plus cards are even faster, with sequential read speeds of 180MB/s and sequential write speeds of 130MB/s. The other speed profiles remain the same as the Evo Plus, ensuring rapid performance across various uses.

Durability and protection

As with their previous microSD cards, these new ones have several protections. They are water-resistant, can withstand extreme temperatures, and are designed to be drop-proof. Additionally, they offer wear-out protection and X-ray and magnetic protection.

Pro Plus and Evo Plus microSD cards come with a 10-year limited warranty, providing peace of mind for long-term usage.

Pricing and availability

The 1TB Samsung Pro Plus microSD card, model number MB-MD1T0SA/APC, costs S$199. The 1TB Samsung Evo Plus microSD card, model number MB-MC1T0SA/APC, costs S$179.

You can purchase storage cards from Samsung's official online store, the Lazada platform, and Shopee.
