The upcoming event in Mumbai will kick off at 10 a.m. EDT, 4 p.m. CEST, and 7:30 p.m. IST and will be live-streamed via OnePlus's YouTube channel.

Where and what to expect from the device

The phone is expected to be similar to 's foldable Find N2, exclusive to . Oppo, a sister company of OnePlus, will also launch a new foldable phone, the Find N3 Flip, which is also presumed to be China-specific.

OnePlus aims for a new foldable experience

In a statement, OnePlus President Kinder Liu was enthusiastic about the OnePlus Open, saying it would “break the compromise between display technology, imaging performance, and weight” in the foldable smartphone market. According to Liu, the OnePlus Open features an elegant, lightweight, slim design, an almost invisible screen crease, efficient software, and high-quality imaging performance.

In line with the company's history of releasing details ahead of launches, OnePlus has also teased the return of its classic alert slider feature for the new phone. In previous interviews, Liu has indicated that the device will have a book-type form factor, making it a competitor to Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold. This design will align the OnePlus Open with Oppo's Find N2 and the upcoming Find N3, featuring the book-type form.
