Commvault has introduced a new addition to its cloud backup solutions, aimed at enhancing cyber resilience for Microsoft 365 users. This development, leveraging Commvault Cloud with Premium Microsoft 365 Backup Storage, promises comprehensive recovery and resilience across Microsoft 365 workloads.
A unified approach to managing backups
Integrating Microsoft 365 Backup Storage with Commvault's Cloud Backup and Recovery platform offers a streamlined experience. Users can manage their backups through a unified control interface, famously referred to as “single-pane-of-glass” monitoring. This integration facilitates simplified administration and a more efficient total cost of ownership. The solution is readily available on the Microsoft Azure Marketplace, allowing for immediate deployment.
Tailored recovery options bolster security
The enhanced backup storage solution provides customizable recovery and retention settings for various Microsoft 365 applications, including Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint. This flexibility ensures that enterprises can select the optimal level of protection and recovery for each specific workload, leading to better resource management and cost efficiency.
Tirthankar Chatterjee, Chief Technology Officer at Commvault, emphasised the strategic benefits of the integration. “We are building on our 27+ years of co-development and co-engineering with this integrated solution that helps customers achieve the highest level of cyber resilience and threat readiness, along with the ability to greatly improve recovery time to specific Microsoft 365 workloads. We're excited about the advantages and efficiencies the combined solution brings to our joint customers and partners,” Chatterjee stated. He highlighted the significance of this advancement in providing robust threat readiness and recovery capabilities.
