enthusiasts, get ready for some exciting news about the upcoming 16 Pro models. It looks like this year's releases will feature bigger batteries.

Instant Digital recently shared the expected battery capacities for the Apple iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models. The tipster claims these new models will feature a 5% and 9% battery capacity increase.

The battery for the iPhone 16 Pro will reportedly be 3,577mAh, a notable 9.25% increase from the iPhone 15 Pro's 3,274mAh battery. Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Pro Max will see a more minor but significant increase of 5.74%, from the 4,676mAh battery in the iPhone 15 Pro Max to a 4,422mAh battery.

What does this mean for you?

So, what do these changes mean for your daily use? A higher mAh (milliampere-hour) rating means the battery can hold more charge, translating to a longer battery life. When combined with the expected improvements in power efficiency from the new A18 chipset, the battery life of the iPhone 16 Pro models could remain the same or even improve, despite the slightly larger displays and more advanced features.

The new iPhones might not match the 5,000mAh batteries you often see in flagship Android phones, but Apple's focus on optimisation and efficiency could still deliver impressive battery performance.

Faster charging speeds

One concern with larger batteries is the potential increase in charging time. To address this, Apple is expected to boost the wired and MagSafe charging speeds for the iPhone 16 Pro models. This improvement aims to “balance and improve the problem of increasing charging time caused by the increase in battery capacity,” ensuring you won't have to wait too long to charge your phone entirely.

This year's iPhone upgrades promise a more enduring battery life and faster charging times, improving your iPhone experience.
